"Australians set a record for new vehicle sales in 2013 when we purchased 1,136,277 units.  On the other hand, China, the world's largest automotive market sells over a million cars per month!  It is forecasted that by the end of this decade, the Chinese will purchase upwards of 30 million cars a year - about 80% more than the record for the US market.  So where better for automotive manufacturers to showcase their wares than at its doorstep?

Held every 2 years, the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition is recognised as one of the leading and most important automotive shows in the world.  When the auto show was last held in Beijing in 2012, 120 vehicles made their global debut; 2,000 exhibitors from 14 countries and regions displayed their wares over 230,000 square metres of exhibition space; 800,000 visitors attended the exhibition; and, it was reported by 13,000 journalists.  Exhibits included not only vehicles - petrol, diesel and electric - but everything and anything to do with the automobile including R&D, design techniques, accessories, maintenance, car care products, paints, lubricants, additives and other auto supplies."
